3RD MILANO MONTAGNA VIBRAM FACTORY: THE WINNERS

We are glad to announce the five winners of the 3rd edition of the Milano Montagna Vibram Factory Sport Design Competition 2017.
These are the projects awarded by our jury composed by Alberto Meda President, Riccardo Blumer, Martino Colonna, Silvia Nani, Marc Sadler; Robert Fliri, Marco Guazzoni and Massimo Randone.

 

1st price
Matthew Edwards (South Africa) for the project TERA-03.
For the courage to go upstream in a age of hyperspecialization, meeting the social and economic needs of the poorest communities. An affordable multi-use sport shoe with an “hybrid” sole that allows to play different sports, be it football, rugby,  running, cycling or rock climbing. A project that pays attention to sustainability and to artisan tradition from a repairing and  moneysaving point of view.

Francesco Gatti, Nicola Pizzigoni e Andrea Rosati (Italy – in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano) for the project GIANO
An innovative bike system with a simple and light design to modify the height difference between bike seat and handlebars, ensuring bikers greater stability and security both uphill and downhill.

Corentin Bricout (France) for the project ISBJÖRN
An elegant, simple and efficient snowboard apparel. The different optionals such as the long cut for the back of the jacket, a transparent pocket protection for cellphones, a system of Velcro straps and detectors make it a must-have for the new generation of snowboarders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Special prize: Innovation
Ottavio Colazingari, Pietro Lamaro, Gabriele Simonetti e Alessandro Viale (Italy) for the project ADVENTURE ADDICTED
An app for everyone who is passionate for outdoor sports and wants to find the perfect adventure’s companions.
The interface allows to organize trips or join those already planned and in case of unexpected events an S.O.S. system tracks the user’s coordinates and calls select number for emergencies.

Special prize: Vibram 
Giacomo Piazzi (Italy) for the project REPLICANT (realized with the support of La Sportiva for the thesis dissertation with the supervision of the professor Antonella Andriani at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona)
A shoe concept for mountain running which answers to the customers demand for personalisation, both eastethically and in terms of functioning.
Replicant succeeds in combining the efficient and technologically advanced Vibram sole to personalized components of the upper, removable and interchangeable depeding on one’s needs.
