After the success of its four editions, Milano Montagna Festival becomes Fuori Festival: many events that will take place in Milano. This will engage all mountain and outdoor enthusiast with sport, culture, cinema, food and technology events.

In this fifth edition we have stronger connections with our main partners Comune di Milano (Milan City Hall), Vibram, travel companion since the first edition and CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) Milano section.
The main theme of this year are the Traces that we leave behind our passage. From those who are left in the collective and personal immaginary by mountaneers, explorers, climbers, skiers, writers and film directors to those that the mountains leave inside of us.
From this year the Festival also becomes Fuori Festival with many events around the city during the week from 22th to 28th October.

Of great interest among our international guests is Andrzej Bargiel who has completed this summer the first complete descent of K2, previously thought not to be possible. Along with him many more international athletes, mountaneers, freeriders and explorers such as Hansjörg Auer, Xavier de le Rue, Matteo della Bordella, Arianna Tricomi, Markus Eder, Ettore Personnettaz, Shanty Cipolli, Luca Albrisi and many more. They will tell us about the endeavors they realized thanks to the unforgettable snowfalls of the winter season 2018.
The Festival also has a rich program of international film premieres such as Hoji with Eric Hjorleifson and Sky Piercer with Xavier de le Rue, Sam Smoothy e Nadine Wallner, Duality with the athletes of Trailrunning Team Vibram: Yulia Baykova, Audrey Bassac, Juliette Blanchet and Uxue Frail. Moreover there will be a series of retrospectives of film that have made the history of mountain cinematography, book presentation and scientific talks. We will also host the presentation of an academic project about the first italian natural park with circular economy.
There will be, as every year, action sport and leisure moments dedicated to families and children (from 5 years old) thanks to CAI Milano and their climbing wall.
Another news is Milano Montagna’s library: a colleciton of mountain books to inspire everyone.
Milano Montagna will offer training moments to schools to promote a conscious approach to sports and the strong educational value of mountains.

CAI Milano will set a climbing wall and everybody, from the age of 5, will be able to try a climbing experience. Moreover, a full morning will be dedicated to schools and to educate to a conscious approach to sport practice, healthy lifestyle and an ethic environment behaviour.
An important part of this edition is dedicated to mountain and nature narrations. During the festival there will be the opportunity to meet writers as Marco Confortola, Paolo Paci, Alberto Bregani, Vincenzo Agostini, Francesco Lotta, Franco Michieli, Marco Albino Ferrari, Alberto Paleari, Guido Andruetto, Alberto di Monte.
Another news this year is Milano Montagna’s Library: a collection of mountain books able to inspire everyone. The project has been realized in collaboration with Corbaccio, Hoepli, Mursia.
The Festival will also be a gastronomic & cultural event dedicated to food, wine and beer made in the mountains. It will be possible to discover flavors, smells and raw materials that make the alpine region unique.
Two photo exhibitions will be hosted at BASE : “Civiltà dell‘Alpeggio” of the photographer Marco Mazzoleni about trades and traditions of the region around Bergamo, “The Clean Approach”, byLuca Albrisi about the rediscovery of the deep relationship between men and nature through an outdoor&sustainable sport practice.

A special attention will be given to project related to environmental sustainability.
The Festival will host the presentation of a project about the first italian natural park with circular economy, made by Università Bocconi.
Last year’s edition was a success thanks to the partecipation of more than 150 projects from 5 continents. Milano Montagna Video Awards, the international contest for young independent filmmakers, is back with its 3rd edition. President of the jury: Guido Perrini.
